Gary Ahwah

Senior Vice President, Enterprise Systems and Applications
City of Hope

Gary Ahwah joined City of Hope (COH) in 2016 as the Senior Vice President, Enterprise Systems and Applications. Gary provides strategic direction to ensure that all enterprise solutions meet COH’s immediate and long-term needs for growth.

Gary has over 26 years of leadership expertise in information technology within healthcare environments. Most recently from Kaiser Permanente, where he served as Vice President, Business Information Officer for four years. While there, he sponsored and directed the regional evolution of their Epic electronic health system and drove their virtual care and consumer digital strategies. Earlier in his career, he held a number of senior leadership roles in Information Technology at Southern California Edison, United HealthGroup, PacifiCare Health Systems and The Walt Disney Company. Gary has a bachelor’s degree in computer science/mathematics and holds an MBA from the University of Southern California.

Stan Banash

Chief Information Security Officer
Children’s Hospital of Orange County

Stan Banash Jr. is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). As CISO, he is responsible for the strategic direction and alignment of the Information Security Program. His approach to Information Security employs risk management resulting in a strategically oriented and fiscally responsible program.

Prior to joining CHOC, Stan spent eight years developing and maturing the Information Security Program for Corinthian Colleges in Santa Ana, CA.  He became interested in Information Security as a consultant and CTO of Tallan Inc. during the early days of E-Commerce.

Stan has a Master Degree in Business Administration from Keller Graduate School and Bachelor Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southern California. Stan holds Certified Chief Information Security Officer (C|CISO), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) certifications.

Sri Bharadwaj

Director of Clinical and Business Applications & CISO

Sriram Bharadwaj (Sri) is Director of Clinical and Business Applications and CISO, University of California, Irvine, Healthcare (UCI Health) and has over 25 years of Information Management Systems experience in multiple industries including healthcare. Sri has held many leadership positions in health plans and prior to his current work at UCI Sri consulted with Integrated Delivery Network (IDNs) around ACO, HIE and Clinical integration. Sri has expertise in Applications Development, Enterprise-wide IT Infrastructure and Operations. Sri is well known for his process knowledge delivering performance improvements in multiple industries during his long tenure with Deloitte in various parts of the Americas, Asia Pacific and EMEA region. Sri also has expertise building products for customers through his earlier involvement with SAP AG (an ERP vendor).

Sri is a CPHIMS, PMP, CISSP, Chartered Global Management Accountant (FCGMA)(U.K), Professional, Academy of Healthcare Management (PAHM), and a Six Sigma Black Belt (ASQ). Sri is past committee member for the CIO Healthcare Summits and has delivered many presentations on Healthcare regulations and compliance at various conferences. Sri currently serves as Chair, Privacy and Security Committee, National HIMSS. Sri has been on the Southern California HIMSS Board for many years and also is involved with the HIMSS Interoperability and Standards Workgroup, Patient Engagement Workgroup providing thought leadership and opinion on various matters around patient engagement, interoperability, healthcare legislation, privacy and security.

Matt Christensen

Matt Christensen is a Cybersecurity and Risk Thought Leader, Listener, and Problem Solver.  He has provided risk-based cybersecurity consulting services, program implementation, and program management for over 10 years. He traveled internationally for one of the world's largest private sector employers as the lead Cybersecurity Fraud Examiner performing risk assessments and fraud investigations for several Fortune clients. Industry experience includes Healthcare, Insurance, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), and Non-Profit. He has owned and operated several businesses and is passionate about bridging the Technological gap with the Business and the Business gap with Technologists.

With 30-years as a healthcare executive, Drex was previously Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Steward Healthcare in Boston; Senior Vice President and CIO at Seattle Children's Health System and Research Institute; and Corporate VP and CIO at Scripps Health in San Diego. Before coming to Scripps, Drex had a highly-decorated career as a US Air Force officer, serving as a regional CIO, medical center CIO, and finishing his military career as Chief Technology Officer for the USAF Health System's World-Wide Operations in Washington, DC. Drex has a Master of Science in Health Informatics from University of Alabama-Birmingham; and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Oklahoma. He’s currently a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (FHIMSS), and College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (FCHIME). A Past-Chair of CHIME’s Board of Trustees, Drex is a Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO), and widely published, quoted, and a regular presenter at healthcare leadership conferences. Drex serves as a Board Director at CynergisTek, Inc (NYSE: CTEK) – a BEST in KLAS Healthcare Security Consulting Firm. He’s also a Recovering-CIO and Independent Consultant at drexio digital health, helping health systems, vendor-partners, start-ups, and investors solve healthcare’s toughest problems.

Todd Felker, CISSP

Todd Felker is the Security Officer for Torrance Memorial Medical Center. Todd has over 23 years of Healthcare related IT experience and has been responsible for the security program at TMMC since 2013. Todd also has over 20 years of volunteer service with the Boy Scouts of America and likes to hike and camp with his wife and his two teen age boys.

Pamela Hepp

As a member of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney’s Healthcare Group, Pam concentrates her healthcare practice on issues affecting large healthcare institutions, including complex transactions, medical staff matters and regulatory issues including Medicare and Medicaid fraud, abuse and False Claims Act investigations and settlement negotiations, Stark and HIPAA confidentiality issues, EMTALA and patient care questions.

She represents a wide range of healthcare providers in mergers, acquisitions and other corporate restructurings, forming joint ventures, drafting employment and independent contractor agreements, and forming physician networks and healthcare entities. While at Buchanan, Pam has also served as part-time in-house counsel at a large health system and an international medical device company.

Pam is a member of the firm’s Cybersecurity and Data Protection Group. She proactively advises clients in developing privacy and security policies and procedures, and conducting HIPAA and data security training. She also assists clients in connection with data security incident response, including conducting breach risk assessments, advising clients on HIPAA and state law data security breach notification law, and Office for Civil Rights investigations.

Pam was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2018 list in Healthcare Law.

William Perry

Mr. Perry holds an MBA and has over 25 years of experience in the field of information technology and now serves as the Senior Director & Chief Information Security Officer for the City of Hope.

Mr. Perry is a trusted advisor for executive officers and committees on security, risk and compliance matters.  He is well versed in regulations and standards related to risk management and security, including Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, ARRA/HITECH, Basel II, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, ISO 27001 and 2, and much more.

As a thought leader in the information security arena, Mr. Perry has spoken on cyber security topics at events for the DHS Graduate Program, Langston Hughes Bar Association, San Diego Safety Day, and others.

William Perry is also a member of the California Statewide Cyber Security Task Force and the Los Angeles Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association.

Scott Raymond, MHA/INF, BSN, RN

Seasoned IT executive with over 18 years of healthcare experience in managing and implementing complex clinical, business, and technical initiatives, including strategic IT planning. Experience in clinical, ancillary, financial, and remote access system implementations. Operational support for health information systems operations and improvements, hospital business operations, consolidations, department openings, mergers and closings. Expertise in directing enterprise innovation projects, including strategic consulting and board seats for MemorialCare’s for-profit innovation fund. Responsibility for conducting key enterprise clinical systems contract negotiations, Enterprise Cyber Security, Citrix, and Managed Services partners. Responsible for building, developing, and leading highly-effective teams, in both IT and clinical environments. ITIL, Lean Leader, and Facilitative Leadership Certified.

Heath Renfrow

Mr. Heath Renfrow currently serves as the Chief Information Security Officer for LEO Cyber Security. Previously he has been the CISO for multiple global organizations, and most recently as the CISO for United States Army Medicine, where he was awarded the 2017 Global CISO of the year by EC-COUNCIL, the largest cyber training body in the world. Mr. Renfrow has 20 years of global cyber security professional experience, and is considered one of the leading cyber leaders today. He holds Bachelors in Science in Information Technology, and a Master’s of Science in Cyber Studies. Mr. Renfrow also holds numerous industry leading certifications, including Certified Chief Information Security Officer (C|CISO), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH). Mr. Renfrow also serves on the following boards: Adlumin Board of Directors, National Cyberwatch Center Foundation, University of Indiana Cyber Advisory Council, Cyber Patriot Program Advisory Council.
