Gary Ahwah joined City of Hope (COH) in 2016 as the Senior Vice President, Enterprise Systems and Applications. Gary provides strategic direction to ensure that all enterprise solutions meet COH’s immediate and long-term needs for growth.
Gary has over 26 years of leadership expertise in information technology within healthcare environments. Most recently from Kaiser Permanente, where he served as Vice President, Business Information Officer for four years. While there, he sponsored and directed the regional evolution of their Epic electronic health system and drove their virtual care and consumer digital strategies. Earlier in his career, he held a number of senior leadership roles in Information Technology at Southern California Edison, United HealthGroup, PacifiCare Health Systems and The Walt Disney Company. Gary has a bachelor’s degree in computer science/mathematics and holds an MBA from the University of Southern California.

Children’s Hospital of Orange County
Stan Banash Jr. is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). As CISO, he is responsible for the strategic direction and alignment of the Information Security Program. His approach to Information Security employs risk management resulting in a strategically oriented and fiscally responsible program.
Prior to joining CHOC, Stan spent eight years developing and maturing the Information Security Program for Corinthian Colleges in Santa Ana, CA. He became interested in Information Security as a consultant and CTO of Tallan Inc. during the early days of E-Commerce.
Stan has a Master Degree in Business Administration from Keller Graduate School and Bachelor Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southern California. Stan holds Certified Chief Information Security Officer (C|CISO), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) certifications.

With 30-years as a healthcare executive, Drex was previously Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Steward Healthcare in Boston; Senior Vice President and CIO at Seattle Children's Health System and Research Institute; and Corporate VP and CIO at Scripps Health in San Diego. Before coming to Scripps, Drex had a highly-decorated career as a US Air Force officer, serving as a regional CIO, medical center CIO, and finishing his military career as Chief Technology Officer for the USAF Health System's World-Wide Operations in Washington, DC. Drex has a Master of Science in Health Informatics from University of Alabama-Birmingham; and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Oklahoma. He’s currently a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (FHIMSS), and College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (FCHIME). A Past-Chair of CHIME’s Board of Trustees, Drex is a Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO), and widely published, quoted, and a regular presenter at healthcare leadership conferences. Drex serves as a Board Director at CynergisTek, Inc (NYSE: CTEK) – a BEST in KLAS Healthcare Security Consulting Firm. He’s also a Recovering-CIO and Independent Consultant at drexio digital health, helping health systems, vendor-partners, start-ups, and investors solve healthcare’s toughest problems.
Todd Felker, CISSP

Todd Felker is the Security Officer for Torrance Memorial Medical Center. Todd has over 23 years of Healthcare related IT experience and has been responsible for the security program at TMMC since 2013. Todd also has over 20 years of volunteer service with the Boy Scouts of America and likes to hike and camp with his wife and his two teen age boys.

Seasoned IT executive with over 18 years of healthcare experience in managing and implementing complex clinical, business, and technical initiatives, including strategic IT planning. Experience in clinical, ancillary, financial, and remote access system implementations. Operational support for health information systems operations and improvements, hospital business operations, consolidations, department openings, mergers and closings. Expertise in directing enterprise innovation projects, including strategic consulting and board seats for MemorialCare’s for-profit innovation fund. Responsibility for conducting key enterprise clinical systems contract negotiations, Enterprise Cyber Security, Citrix, and Managed Services partners. Responsible for building, developing, and leading highly-effective teams, in both IT and clinical environments. ITIL, Lean Leader, and Facilitative Leadership Certified.

Mr. Heath Renfrow currently serves as the Chief Information Security Officer for LEO Cyber Security. Previously he has been the CISO for multiple global organizations, and most recently as the CISO for United States Army Medicine, where he was awarded the 2017 Global CISO of the year by EC-COUNCIL, the largest cyber training body in the world. Mr. Renfrow has 20 years of global cyber security professional experience, and is considered one of the leading cyber leaders today. He holds Bachelors in Science in Information Technology, and a Master’s of Science in Cyber Studies. Mr. Renfrow also holds numerous industry leading certifications, including Certified Chief Information Security Officer (C|CISO), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH). Mr. Renfrow also serves on the following boards: Adlumin Board of Directors, National Cyberwatch Center Foundation, University of Indiana Cyber Advisory Council, Cyber Patriot Program Advisory Council.

Karl West is the Chief Information Security Officer and Assistant Vice President of Information Systems at Intermountain Healthcare, an integrated delivery network of 22 hospitals and 185 clinics in Utah and Southern Idaho. Karl is a well-respected speaker and security expert who is often sought after by other organizations that want to embed his holistic solutions in their security strategies.
At Intermountain, Karl is responsible for all aspects of the organization’s security strategy. Karl’s leadership—throughout the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of an excellent security program—has earned Intermountain national recognition as a leader in health information security.
The teams Karl inspires cover a wide range of security specialties—governance, architecture, risk and compliance, Identity and Access, eDiscovery, forensics, and incident management. Protecting and defending against unauthorized access to patient and employee information, clinical systems, networks and data is Karl’s vocation. He’s keenly interested in innovation as well, especially the development of new technologies that improve care and lower costs.
For more than 30 years, Karl has been involved in information technology and security. Prior to his role at Intermountain, Karl was Vice President and Managing Partner at AT&T Consulting Services.
Karl is a member of the Utah Health Information Network (UHIN) Privacy and Security Board. He’s also a board member of the Association for Executives in Healthcare Information Security (AEHIS), a part of the College of Health Information Management Executives (CHIME), and Weber State College’s Computer Science department.
Karl received a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Brigham Young University and later a master’s degree in Business Administration.
