Q3 2018 Newsletter - Volunteer Profiles: John Jaymes & Hannan Sayed
John Jaymes is Chief Information Security Officer at Good Samaritan Hospital of Los Angeles where he's spent 5 years leading the development of a world-class information security program. John works closely with the hospital's Board of Trustees and executive partners in Compliance and Information Services to create a culture of measured progress and sustainable success at the hospital. John is known for his practical and pragmatic approach to risk management and is a key contributor as the hospital moves forward with its goals for 21st century systems to support modern patient care capabilities and initiatives. John came to Good Samaritan with 17 years of experience as a security consultant with Fortune 100 clients in a myriad of industries working with all aspects of information security management. John is also a US Navy veteran where he served as an aviation electronics technician and military police officer.
Hannan Sayed is a graduate from Stony Brook University in New York where he earned a Master's Degree in Applied Health Informatics and received the Leadership Excellence Award. He's currently an EMR trainer for Allscripts working with Davita Healthcare Partners, teaching the EMR system to clinical staff and continually updating the curriculum. Since moving from New York, he's been enjoying everything California has to offer, its beautiful weather, and the life-long friendships he's made among his colleagues. Hannan stands out among the Southern California HIMSS Chapter membership for his active involvement in the chapter during the past year. He's been instrumental in facilitating many Academic Alliance events for the Chapter such as the Career Roundtable and at the Annual Healthcare IT Conference. He's also published a case study for the HIMSS Case Study Task Force on understanding patient engagement and the obstacles different healthcare organizations face. He's on the SoCal HIMSS Board Committee for Academic Alliance and has been recruiting students and young professionals to get involved in this wonderful organization.
